Emma Mageau, Recipient: “Receiving this bursary in memory of Judy’s volunteerism is an incredible honour. It’s inspiring to see the impact of her legacy and to envision my future contributions to cancer care.”

Sreepriya PK, Recipient: “Winning this bursary is not just a support for me, but also a motivation. My experience at the cancer center has equipped me to make a difference in cancer research and patient care.”

Established in honour of her memory, the Judy Herold Bursary serves as a testament to Judy’s unwavering commitment to excellence in cancer care, nursing, volunteerism, and community engagement.

"My mother Judy Herold was a volunteer here at the Shirley and Jim Fielding Northeast Cancer Centre for a number of years, and after she was diagnosed with cancer, being able to come back here and be treated locally was very special to her. The fact that she had the previous experience of being a volunteer meant that she did not fear what lay ahead– she knew what to expect. We are so happy that we could be here today to continue her legacy,"

Todd Herold, Judy Herold's Son
Thank you to the Herold family for their generosity in supporting local students who are making a difference in nursing, cancer care & volunteering in the community. We are proud to help honour Judy’s legacy by empowering these innovative individuals to continue her impactful work.
