Forecasting Hope: The Weather Network's Kim MacDonald Set to Spark Inspiration at 26th Annual Luncheon of Hope!

The Northern Cancer Foundation (NCF) and the Luncheon of Hope Committee are thrilled to announce that Kim MacDonald, beloved meteorologist and breast cancer survivor, will be the guest speaker at the 26th Annual Luncheon of Hope. This inspiring event, taking place on September 24th at 12 noon at the Caruso Club, will raise critical funds to support breast cancer research, purchase vital equipment, and fund future development projects through the Shirley and Jim Fielding Northeast Cancer Centre.

Kim MacDonald is an award winning weather personality whose broadcast career spans three decades. She is one of the most familiar faces of The Weather Network where she has built a loyal audience after 26 years  of passionate weather and climate storytelling.

In 2016, Kim faced a personal challenge when she was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Undaunted, she turned her journey into a platform for advocacy, serving as a national spokesperson for Breast Cancer Canada for the past seven years. By going public with her diagnosis and dedicated efforts, she has raised crucial awareness and funding for breast cancer research, earning recognition twice in the House of Commons for her advocacy work.

“I am so grateful for the opportunity to speak at the Luncheon of Hope and support the Northern Cancer Foundation’s incredible investment in cancer care. Every cancer survivor has a story. It is my privilege to share mine with all of you. Our voice is our superpower.”
